Assessing your needs
Choosing a care home is a major decision in your life, and we invite you to visit us at Gavin Astor House if you can before making up your mind. We will be pleased to show you around, introduce you to our staff and residents, and explain the facilities and services we can provide. If necessary, we may be able to arrange to visit you or your family at your home or in hospital instead.
Assessing your care needs
Before moving in to Gavin Astor House Nursing Home, we carry out a pre-admission assessment to obtain a complete and detailed picture of your specific needs such as hygiene, skin care, mobility, nutrition and communication, together with your individual preferences. We also obtain information from relatives and other health professionals as appropriate. This is to ensure that your specific needs can be properly met by the facilities and environment we offer, and that our staff have the right skills and experience to look after you to the standard you deserve and that we demand of them.
Before you move in, the staff who will be allocated to care for you will familiarise themselves with the assessment of your needs to ensure they are well prepared and ready to give you their best attention. Gavin Astor House Nursing Home is fortunate to be very well equipped, but we ensure that any additional equipment necessary for us to care for you is in place before you move in, and that the room allocated to you is suitable for you.
