Nursing Staff
Each unit in Gavin Astor House Nursing Home has its own nursing and care staff, and a qualified nurse is on duty 24 hours a day on each floor, supported by a core team of care staff. We employ a high proportion of healthcare staff to look after our residents, ensuring that they are able to get up, go to bed or go out as and when they choose. All our staff are highly motivated, of a kind and caring nature, and able to identify and communicate with residents at all levels.
Our nursing staff are all fully professionally qualified, while many of our healthcare workers are committed to achieving their qualifications through formal training, and therefore to making the care profession a long-term career choice.
Our nursing and care staff are experienced in and well informed about many illnesses, and understand the needs of those suffering from physical disabilities and conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinsons Disease. In addition, professional medical advice is always available from visiting medical specialists.
